Raid Signups Empty Raid Signups

I like predicatability, meaning I like to know if there is a raid or not. The last couple of days it was rather getting funny with peeps being signed and nobody actually being there. At the moment we are short on backups, so it would be nice if the people who can't make a signed up raid should tell someone at least a bit beforehand.
